You would think that the last place a young offender would go voluntarily is a police station, but that is just what Michael did to be given a place on a Prince’s Trust Team Programme run by the City of Wolverhampton College.
In the initial stage of recovery from drug addiction he was accepted on a course that changed his life and more importantly proved that he could be a success by attaining ten certificates in total, four of which are City and Guilds qualifications.
After completing his work experience on the program with West Bromwich Albion, he stayed on as a volunteer, successfully completing his Level One Football Coaching Qualification and starting to work on his Level Two.
Michael writes, ‘I am so pleased with where I am now compared to where I was … Learning means everything to me, its turned my life around.’
Michael was nominated by Kieron Weatherstone of the City of Wolverhampton College.
